Strengthening of Entry Regulations to Indonesia Due to Mpox Countermeasures

Dear all ISMAB2024 participants,

We have received important information regarding entry into Indonesia, which we would like to share with you as follows.

The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has announced the strengthening of entry regulations to prevent the domestic spread of Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) in Indonesia. All travelers entering Indonesia are now required to fill out a digital self-declaration form on the SATUSEHAT Health Pass, providing information on their health condition and travel history.

(Note) The directive that established this regulation (Director General of Civil Aviation Directive No. 5 of 2024) came into effect on August 27. However, according to information from the quarantine office at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, it began at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport on August 29 at 7:00 PM, with plans to gradually implement it at other airports.
The specific procedures are as follows: (1) Overseas travelers (flight crew and passengers) entering Indonesia must fill out the digital self-declaration form on the SATUSEHAT Health Pass (https://sshp.kemkes.go.id/) at the departure airport. (Note) This declaration form is a web-based system and is not the SATUSEHAT app used during the COVID-19 pandemic. (2) After completing all required fields, a QR code will be displayed, which should be either screenshot or printed. (3) Present the QR code at the arrival airport. (4) Additional checks, such as temperature screenings, may be conducted at the arrival airport. If fever is detected, a PCR test or other examination may be conducted.
The digital self-declaration form must be filled out individually for each person, including children and infants. For children, parents must fill out the form on their behalf and keep separate screenshots or printouts.
